Born January 24, 1940. I spent my first twelve years of life living in the small town of Carrollton, Alabama. My teenage years were spent living in Chicago, Illinois, which made me realize just how much I loved the south.
After high school, I spent the next three years as a Paratrooper with the 618th Engineers at Ft. Bragg, N.C. Returning to Chicago, I drove a bus for the Chicago Transit Authority for six years. In 1967, I went to work as a bus driver for the Greyhound Corporation. Driving for Greyhound allowed me to realize my dream of moving back to Alabama which I did in 1972.
