About this Book:

What Most Software Vendors Don’t Want You to Know - Selecting and Implementing the Right EMR, Practice Management or Optical System for Your Ophthalmology Practice, A Step by Step Guide "Are you sure you know how to beat the odds and implement the right computer system for your practice at the right price… the first time?" Maybe you think you "know it all" and will pick the best system without any help. But what if you leave out some important details? Do you want to spend the time racking your brain to think of them all? You will only choose a new computer system once or twice in your career, and those times are likely to be years apart. So, how can you know everything there is to be done? Your time is valuable, so save time and money--let this guide be your map to taking the direct route to selecting the right system. This manual will show you the secrets to a successful implementation.

About the Author:

David and Susan Jones received Bachelor of Science degrees from Purdue University in 1978 and 1979 respectively. In 1983 they founded PRISM Data Systems, Inc., a nationally recognized supplier of premium practice management and electronic medical records systems. PRISM was a full-service organization that installed turnkey, computer solutions providing both software and hardware. David and Susan, along with many talented employees, developed, programmed, demonstrated, trained, converted, installed and supported computer systems throughout the United States. At the end of 1999, they sold their company. Susan started KeyMedical Software, Inc. in 2002 and David joined her in 2005. KeyMedical supplies EMR, practice management and optical shop software.

Book Review:

"It would be cliche if I said, ‘Where was this guide when we needed it?’ Our large physician group with multiple locations has undergone a conversion in the past year. If we could have had this guide, How to Select and Implement the Right Computer Solution for Your Practice, and the check lists supplied, we very well could have avoided many costly mistakes." "This guide was informative and written in layman terms for easy comprehension. The practical tips throughout the guide would be useful for any physician group who is involved in the selection of a new medical management software and hardware package. I applaud the efforts of David and Susan to educate all of us who are either in the process of choosing a computer package or have been undergoing a conversion process." Mary Beth DeFoor Director of Billing Services Marietta, Georgia
