About this Book:
The first Joe’s Place article was published in May of 1997. Nearly 3 years passed before Joe’s Place became a regular feature in the DELARA News, published monthly by the Delaware Amateur Radio Association of Delaware, Ohio.
Since that first Joe’s Place was written, I have learned and re-learned some things. Please read this work for enjoyment and not as a reference book. (I know, it’s hard even for me to believe I ever made a mistake)
Many of the articles were written tongue-in-cheek (that was my intention, anyway). Hopefully, readers will be able to tell which ones those are. The rest, mostly technical, can be taken seriously but with a dash of salt. I hope you all enjoy reading these stories as much as I enjoyed writing them.

About the Author:
I have known Joe for just over 15 years (about a third of the time he has held an Amateur Radio License). During that time, I have gotten to know and respect him for his knowledge about Ham Radio and its many facets. I always enjoy his articles in the DELARA Newsletter and look forward to his latest words of wisdom. He writes in an informative, yet humorous way which makes for an interesting article. Many of his articles are from his adventures and life around Ham Radio and at times related to his job.
There is never a dull moment while listening to or conversing with Joe. This book will give you some ideas of why I feel the way I do about “Joe’s Place”.
I’m looking forward to many more articles in the future (perhaps Volume 2??)

Book Review:
Joe's Place is a once-a-month snap-shot of my Ham radio life (and a few other topics) spanning over 12 years. What humbly began as a one-time-only article for the local Ham club's newsletter, evolved into an every month article. People actually told me they looked forward to seeing what I would come up with next.
(I guess there's no accouting for taste)
Heck, I even received an honary award of sorts:
"OHIO SECTION CONGRATS To Joe Papworth, K8MP, for his most entertaining locally produced regular news column, “Joe’s Place” in The Delara newsletter."
