About this Book:

Stop Pain From Controlling Your Life! Do you hurt most of the time? Do you wake up more discouraged each morning? If not, you probably know someone who does. Lingering chronic pain can lead to crippling depression that condemns sufferers to a sedentary lifestyle that ensures their bodies grow weaker every day. Eventually, most chronic pain sufferers give in to feelings of uselessness and self-pity and suspect they will feel that way forever. But wait! There is hope. Apply the ancient secret solution offered in this book to begin living life again. You Can: Take control of your thoughts and focus on what is good in your life. Fire self-pity, stop responding to unruly emotions and start enjoying life. Discover who and whose you are and that you are NOT your pain. Depend on strength greater than your own to grow stronger each day. Stop being a needy neighbor and become a neighbor who serves others.

About the Author:

Christian coach, speaker, writer, and missionary, Cheryle M. Touchton, is the Director of Pocket Full of Change Ministries and the author of 5 books. She travels the country in a camper with her dog Belle, sharing the Good News of Christ. It is hard to imagine that at one time, Cheryle’s body ached with pain that stopped her from living. She was a burden to everyone who loved her until she discovered God’s secret to everything and that it worked for chronic pain and related depression.

Book Review:

The short book is long on helpful insights and suggestions to help a person manage chronic pain and the depression that often follows. The goal is to engage the reader to take personal and active steps to life their lives to the fullest with less pain. Cheryle incorporates biblical principles along with her personal discoveries in dealing with her own pain. She is honest and forthcoming about her experiences and believes her discoveries can benefit those in similar situations. This book is designed to be interactive with the reader, by providing helps such as personal pain inventory sheets where the reader can begin to become actively involved in their own pain-reducing process. It is not a medical textbook and is not meant to replace any medical advice the reader may be currently receiving, but is a wonderful companion as one journeys with their doctors to maintain optimal health both physically and emotionally.
