The Beer Label is the story of an infantryman's experience of combat during World War II. The story begins when the narrator discovers a peeled beer label from his deceased father's effects. On the reverse side, is a list of names dated from 1944. One of the names listed is the narrator's father. The story unfolds as the son learns how his father lived and survived during the ordeals of combat.
