About this Book:

This is a delighful story about Sammy, who is a caterpillar. He meets Charlie the Chocolate Dog and other characters as he explores the caterpillar world on his way to becoming a butterfly. Written by the second graders at Sycamore Elementary School.

About the Author:

The second graders in Room 27, under the direction of their teacher, Helen Ramsay, wrote this story. Not only did the students come up with the setting, characters and plot, they actively chose the adjectives, verbs,and dialogue. The students then illustrated the book.
