Captain JH Tachie-Menson is the first African person to sail a commercial ship accross the Atlantic to USA. He composed sacred music at sea and on land for choirs he directed. The Captain's Hymnal is a compilation of some 30 hymns. Fortunately, he wrote most of his hymns according to well known meters, and so the tunes can be used to sing favorite old hymns. The table of contents has been designed to show this. There are two versions of the hymnal: the tonic solfa and the staff editions. Check them out!
