Our story began with frequent sightings of an albino white-tailed deer in the woodlands
surrounding Lake Metroparks Penitentiary Glen Nature Center in Kirtland, Ohio. The Nature Center staff was planning to create a new nature-themed winter exhibit, and
the presence of the albino deer lit a creative spark that resulted in this book. Come along on our journey and explore colors in winter, animal survival, and the importance of camouflage, intertwined with a story of friendship and a quest for one’s true color…with just a little bit of magic.
