About the Author:

Tom Wilks was born in Abilene, Texas. He has studied, collected and photographed reptiles for over 50 years. He has worked as a zookeeper in the Reptile House at the San Antonio Zoo, as a wildlife guide at the Bayou Wildlife Park near Houston, and as an animal control officer. He is a member of the East Texas Herpetological Society and the Texas Animal Control Association.
