About this Book:

Ransomed is a remarkable story of God delivering a man out of a horrible pit of despair and death. This book describes the miracle of God that saved Stewart from a would be fatal bullet to his head. But most of all it is the story of coming into a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ who saved him. The experiences of this transformation process and how other lives have been changed through the testimony of this miracle are also detailed. This book gives confirmation to the mercy and love our Lord has for each one of us, "not willing that any should perish."

About the Author:

William Stewart Whittemore, Stewart or Stu as he likes to be called, is a blessed father of six children and grandfather to eleven grandchildren. For the past few years, since his recovery from depression and suicide, he has spent his time volunteering, speaking, writing and encouraging those who are struggling with depression and the difficulties of life. His testimony has so far been given in the United States, Israel, the United Kingdom, South Africa, the Czech Republic, Thailand and China. Stewart is a Navy veteran. He currently holds a certificate of study in Biblical Counseling and is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). Stewart also has a second book near completion.

Book Review:

When I began to read Stewart Whittemore's book "Ransomed..." in March 2004, I had to finish reading it in one sitting. This is a remarkable story of God delivering a man out of a horrible pit (and the clutches of death) and setting his feet on a rock (Jesus). His subsequent life experiences could be the plot of an exiting movie. His eventual knowledge of and walk with God has brought Praise to his God and caused many to trust in the Lord. Stewart shares important information toward the end of the book on major depression and suicide which will be helpful to many. Depression affects about 19 million Americans every year. I highly recommend this book. George A. Hurst M. D. F.A.C.F. Director Emeritus The University of Texas Health Center at Tyler.
