About this Book:

Millions of our citizens have never achieved their potential because of poor reading and basic mathematics skills. About the Author:

Mr. Daugherty has taught mathematics and physical science at the elementary, secondary, and junior college levels; and taught electronics in industry. He was elected to Phi Delta Kappa and Kappa Delta Pi honor societies, and is listed n Who's Who in American Education. He authored standardized achievement tests in math, electricity, an electronics.

Book Review:

The author traces the decline in public education, since the 1950s, primarily due to the unfounded practices, methods, and theories espoused by Colleges of Education. These include; whole word and whole language instruction, new math 1 & 2, multi-lingual instruction, the myth of the all knowing elementary teacher, the junior-high/middle school boondoggle, education vs. indoctrination, the child centered education fiasco. and union's impact upon professionalism.
