This literary series, “Parallel Messages” encompasses two parts. The text is appealing to both adolescent and adults. It provides youth with guidance, while offering both adolescents and mature adults a biographical account of the life of a sharecropper’s daughter. Both pieces provide inspiration and hope.
Adolescent Guide to Adulthood (AGA) provides a spiritual foundation for young adults to begin their journey towards achievement. It explains the period of adolescence, while offering guidance in spiritual growth, educational development, relationship improvement, and health awareness, including emotional health. It also addresses choices and consequences. AGA incorporates some poetry in its content. Also included is a Twelve Step Character Building Guide.
Finding Balance portrays the life of a sharecropper’s daughter from childhood, to adulthood, at age 50. It shows how her spiritual development, choices, interpersonal relationships, and experiences have led to her position in life. She offers her opinions about the current state of the nation.

I am a native of Memphis, Tennessee, but moved to the Los Angeles area after graduating from college in 1979. I am the daughter of a sharecropper. I am married with two adult sons. I have been a resident of Carson, CA for the past 25 years and have worked as a federal investigator for over 25 years. My investigative position has provided me with the opportunity to interview people from all walks of life. Consequently, I have developed an analytical mindset about how to live a fulfilling life, which is articulated in my book.
