The vignettes in this book were written exclusively during the early morning hours of John’s otherwise relatively uneventful days. Those dark, quiet hours when the normal among us generally sleep, or maybe raise hell until they pass out…and then sleep.

John Sutter Wood is the pseudonym of another guy. His varied careers included Lab Tech for a major chemical company, Skilled Nursing Facility Administrator, Custom Home Builder, and Senior Systems Analyst—in that order. He has been retired since 2006, but staying busy—and mostly out from under foot.
This other guy never won anything—no accolades or awards. Well. . .He did once win a bottle of Lancers® Rosé at a Newcomers Club Casino Night, got an A+ on an original paper he submitted for a college literature class, and won a skool-wide speling bea as an 8th graider. All ancient history. He divides his time between his home study and his refrigerator.
