In 1998, God began talking to me about the power of words. In this book you will notice that I don't use the word confession, I use the word profession. I find the basis of this in scripture. Hebrews 3:1(KJV), “Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus.” Modern translations use the word confession, but I think the word profession conveys more appropriately our role in the earth in relation to the use of our words and the authority we have been given in the Lord Jesus Christ.
It is our job or profession to utilize our God-given authority in the earth through words to implement God's will on our behalf and on behalf of others. The power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21) contains life and death and can set the course of enlightenment; it also came as a rebuke, with exhortation. I realized in a fresh way just how important words are in relation to financial prosperity and, more importantly, operating in faith. Now, more than ever, I am convinced that faith will only operate to the level of our profession.
