I was 19 when I attended Family Week during my dad's 28-day treatment program for alcoholism. While it was one of the most difficult, painful and gut-wrenching experiences of my life, it was one of the most enlightening, liberating and life changing. My dad got sober. My family was healed and restored. My life has never been the same. The things I discovered about myself, and the knowledge I gained about alcoholism and drug addiction have stayed with me to this day. Over the last twenty-five years those same experiences and lessons have helped hundreds I have shared with in counseling and at seminars, just as it did my family. What I want to do now is share them with you. It is the true story of my family's triumph over alcohol and drug addiction. Even though I'm sure your story or situation is somewhat different from mine, I am confident that if you, or someone you love, suffer from alcohol or drug abuse or addiction, you'll find something in this book that will help you.

He specializes in marital counseling and addictive disorders and regu-larly speaks at professional conferences, conducts counselor training workshops, and leads educational and enrichment seminars. Dudley has authored four books and produced numerous other educational mate-rials sold through the BCS bookstore and website.
