About this Book:

In Indiana's Amish country in 1952, ten-year-old Courtnee Anne Yoder has a series of adventures with her family and friends. She learns Christian values as she serves at a 'singing,' or fighting a fire, or hosting an "apple picnic." This book begins a series called "Farm Girl." Many color photos bring the story to life, and the delicious Amish recipes make the story taste good.

About the Author:

On this work the author, William Chellberg, uses the pen name of B. Kjellberg the Swedish spelling of his name. He is not Amish. This is the first of a series of Children's books the author has written. He is not new to writing, but has written several other books for a private market.

Book Review:

This book provides wholesome reading for girls from 10 years old up to early teens. It promotes good family and Christian values as well as several tasty recipes that a young girl (or boy) could make. It portrays farm life, and Amish life, as it really is. The type is large enough to be easily readable, and the photos make the story come to life -- Courtnee becomes a real girl.
