About this Book:

The engaging anti-hero, Casey, from Paul Johnson's first novel, Killing The Blues (St. Martin's, 1987) is here reprised, living in Brooklyn with the love of his life. No sooner has he begun to relax and enjoy, than violence comes at him unexpectedly when the occupants of a mysterious van first nearly run him over and then kidnap him. His lovely but practical companion and a delightful fellow from a mafia family who likes to study philosophy (and shows up out of the blue just at the right time) work together to solve the case of the missing Casey.

About the Author:

Paul Johnson loved art but chose writing it over painting it. His first novel, a murder mystery set in upstate New York was highly praised in the New York Times in 1987. His second novel, a political thriller, Operation Remission was named one of the 100 best titles of 1994 in that same publication. His third novel, The Marble Orchard (Wessex Collective, 2006) is a humourous and moving ghost story, mystery and romance set in the author's hometown of Jamestown, New York. Although Paul knew he was dying while writing City of Kings, he willed himself to stay alive long enough to finish and edit it. He was happiest while writing. One week after the completion of City of Kings, Paul Johnson died satisfied with his accomplishment.
