About the Author:

Peggy Hoffmeister Garrett died in 2003 after a battle with multiple myeloma. While raising her family, she enjoyed painting and writing poetry, but as early as high school she won prizes for her writing. As a grandmother, she began taking creative writing classes at Missouri University, took on the presidency of the local writer's guild and began writing her memoirs. They were finished by her daughter.
