Sonja T. Williams was born in New York and now resides in Columbia, South Carolina with her family. She is an advocate of children’s literacy and believes that learning to read is critical for success in school and later on in life. Her hope is that parents help foster the joy of reading by reading to their children at an early age.
“I can’t remember a time in my life when I didn’t enjoy reading on my own or reading to someone else,” says Sonja T. Williams. She does remember skipping recess so that she could sit and read a good book. “Take time to read,” she remarks, “because the smart one is the one who reads!”
This is her first children’s book and she is currently working on her second book.
