About this Book:
Aliyu Abdulsalam, a UN peacekeeping officer and graduate of international relations, chronicles the attempt by the Nigerian armed forces to train the first cadre of home-based airborne paratroopers. Usually a select group of the brightest and bravest, becoming a paratrooper - the most dangerous arm of the military - is not for everyone. Foreword was peneed by one of the country's elite paratrooers, General A.A. Abubakar who went on to become the head of state that presided over the transition from military rule to democracy in 199. Cpatain Abdulsalam, a globalist at heart, is keen to lnk up with kindred paratroopers across the world and reproduces 'The Paratroopers Creed" along with the airborne insignia and badges of virtually all nations with paratrooper units.

Book Review:

The highlights of Capt Abdulsalam’s work appealed to my airborne background. I was more than glad to discover that the Author has the particular talent of turning a very daring venture into a soothing and fascinating readable compilation. By this effort, the officer has made a significant contribution to help understand the essence of parachuting in the military, aerial delivery and as a sport. His work deserves to be given the widest distribution to serving officers, soldiers and to those interested in a profession as elite as Airborne all the way.
- General Abdulsámi A Abubakar, Head of State & Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1998-1999.
