This book was created to share the beauty and history of Lake Bluff, Illinois with those taking A Walk Back in Time—a walking tour through an historic section of east Lake Bluff. The pictures and information included in the book were obtained from the Vliet Museum for lake Bluff History Archives.
A Walk Back in Time transports readers back to a period when Lake Bluff thrived as a summer resort. The Village’s popularity as a summer destination started almost forty years after the first white settlers arrived, when the Lake Bluff Camp Meeting Association (CMA) was formed. This popularity continued into the early 1900s, when artists, literary figures and musicians gathered in an area of Lake Bluff known as the “Artist’s Colony.”
