Over the years while my children have grown and moved around the country as military family members, they have often asked me about my childhood in rural North Carolina and wanted me to document some of the stories they had heard over the years. This book covers my early childhood through my teenage years until I joined the U.S. Navy. It skips some years and picks up again when I met their mother. Some stories are humorous, others touching, but all are true and reflect lessons learned.
