“You haven’t a clue as to what this is all about do you Archer?”
“Of course I do. This is about Shale and I. The only thing that matters is our future happiness.”
Ferris shook his head in staunch disagreement.
“This isn’t only about you and that Shale Postley woman. This is about moving beyond the stigma associated with this family because of that disaster with your first wife.”
“I will never understand your obsession with my first marriage,” Archer openly confessed as he picked up his goblet off the console. “After twelve years you still harp on it at every given opportunity. It was quite tragic what happened to Margo’s life after we divorced, but it has nothing to do with me or the rest of the Herrington family.”
“You need to sober up Archer,” Ferris growled as he hastily snatched the crystal goblet from his son’s grasp. “If you believe for one minute that what happened to your ex-wife and Jensen McKendry has nothing to do with the stability of this family, you definitely need to think again.”
