About this Book:

In his debut collection, Ernest Scribner relies on the strength of images found in Upstate New York to express an existential message. People, trees, and overcast skies provide a setting for earthbound and contemplative moments. The peculiarities of modern life are witnessed on the evening news, in restaurants and cubicles--places where we find ourselves in conflict with the world we have created for ourselves. The unconscious mind surfaces to provide a surreal commentary on the self as it ages and changes with each passing year. Black Willow Branches consists of poetry that does not have to be “figured out”, but describes in a straightforward manner, the images and emotions that we all experience.

About the Author:

Ernest Scribner lives in Rome, New York with his wife and family. He has degrees in English Literature and Computer Science and works as a Software Engineer. He writes poetry when he can.
