About this Book:

This love story is set in the South during the Civil War. A wounded soldier is taken in by a Tennessee family. They nurse him back to good health with the exception of a loss of memory. The journey for him to find his home is more than finding his physical home; rather, it is to come to terms with the relationships around him. Jerry Roberson’s many illustrations not only provide the reader with additional story details but they reveal much personal information about the author himself.

About the Author:

Jerry Roberson was raised on a farm on the Cumberland Plateau in Middle Tennessee; and he really does know first hand what real hard farm life is all about. He tells his stories in illustrations as well as with words. He writes, as his characters speak, not in strictly correct classroom English. He was a military officer by profession; but he has always been a romantic at heart, all of his life. He writes what he feels; not what he thinks others expect him to say. Lieutenant Colonel Gerald A. Roberson, US Army Retired, spent the first five years of his twenty-five year active duty military career as an enlisted man and, as such, spent two full-year “in-country” tours of duty in the Vietnam War. So, he knows a little about how a Civil War soldier might feel about things.

Book Review:

The book is one of the best books that I have read. Jeremiah Comes Home is really a good book. It not only is a love story but it is a well organized mystery as well. The text and ample number of illustrations take you back in time. I have read it more than once!
