About this Book:

What is God really like? Can you really get to know Him personally? Is God concerned with my life and struggles? Is He simply some impersonal being, operating as a judge with a list of laws ready to mete out punishment? People ask questions like these every day, and author Larry Shoop has analyzed Scripture and a lifetime of experiences to specifically seek God's own perspective and answers, and his observations will pleasantly surprise you. In his groundbreaking book “Does God Smile?” Larry Shoop’s conclusions on life’s lessons will help you to know God more personally, and to experience Him in ways you never thought possible. He addresses such questions as: Does God smile at me? What does God expect of me? What is God’s perspective toward me?

About the Author:

Larry Shoop and his wife Judy live in Acworth, Georgia, and have two grown daughters, Laura and Christiana. He is an outdoorsman and enjoys canoeing, biking, hiking, and swimming. He also revels in the study of secular and church history. His great desire is to help others gain a deeper insight into the character of God and to encourage and motivate them to know Him better.

Book Review:

Larry Shoop is a very articulate writer, telling Biblical stories with subtle inferences. For example, in the onset of this book he writes about a smile, and defines the generally accepted definition about how a smile is significant in human behavior. . . . He begins each chapter candidly; often talking about a personal incident being the father of his two daughters. . . . Then he carries forth a moral message and fits it into the situation. Finally, and most enjoyably, he brings his storytelling skills into the Biblical events and historical characters like a History Channel episode, and explains the Christian root of the principles, and how his faith in God has been defined by his reason.
