Book Review:
|
|
These stories are of a simpler time in Maine. The story of Sears Island takes place before the invention of the automobile. Another story takes place during (hard times) no lights, no running water and only an outhouse. When taking baths was in old galvenize round tub, water heated for them on a stove. The story: Life on a farm is showing farming years at its best! Stories of Blueberry Raking, Clamming, Ice fishing, Camping past and present, and Summer Things are a good example of past and present life in Maine. Other stories tells of the antics of children growing up in this wonderful state. The book is easy reading with these short stories.
