Kathleen Geesey is a teacher in the Oxford School District. Her previous book, Black Fog focuses on cyber bullying. Mrs. Geesey lives near Lancaster with her husband, two grandchildren and two cats. She has been an active member of the Star Chamber of the PA Renaissance Faire for twenty years, has written poetry books, plays, short stories, and has been an avid sponsor of their school distsrict's Relay For Life team for ten years.

Yellow Haze deals with real life dangers that students face when they attend college. Even high school students have been victimized by date rape drugs. The message of being aware and steps to take to make students be careful is emphasized in the story of Lucy, Chaz, LeAnne, Nick and their friends. At the end of the book is a special informational section on date rape drugs. Parents, students, and educators should read this to help them become aware of the dangers involved in drinking and parties.
