The sun went down behind a gray cloud, and a shower of rain came falling down. The little puppies cuddled up together, and took a little nap. All except one. He couldn’t sleep. He wanted to play with the other puppies but they ignored him, and just went on sleeping. Little puppy decided to go outside by himself to play.
Once outside he saw a ball, and began to play with it. He pushed it here and there with his little nose until it rolled into a puddle. He did want to play with the ball, but he didn’t want to get his paws wet. He ran around and around the puddle trying to figure out how he could get the ball. That’s when he saw a stick. He picked up the stick with his mouth and hit the ball, over and over again, until he rolled the ball out of the puddle. This made him very happy, but he was so tired from all that work, that he curled up and fell fast asleep.

This book is dedicated to my wonderful wife, Gloria P. Maurizio. My wife was not a professional writer, but she was gifted with a beautiful mind. When our children and our grandchildren would have a sad day or a bad experience, my wife would tell them a story that she would make up on the spot. By the time she was done, everyone would be wearing a smile.
I always thought her stories should be published so that children from all over could enjoy them as our children and grandchildren have. I pledged that I would do that someday and now I am, in part to celebrate Gloria’s life and love of children and in part to serve as a reminder to her family of what a wonderful mother and grandmother she was.
Gloria, not a day goes by that I don’t miss you. I love you honey!
