About this Book:
|
|
This is a beautifully constructed, yet graphic, collection of thought-provoking poems, drawings, sayings, and personal stories directly from the mind of a molested and mentally ill young girl. Written between ages 13 and 20, these expressions show how abuse, starting at age 8, shaped her behavior, her friendships, even her personality. She overcomes shame and fear to open her traumatized, psychotic, yet ingeniously creative mind for the whole world to see. She discovered that being open, honest, and self-expressive is the first step toward overcoming trauma and the only way others will ever begin to understand.
