In Phillipians 4:8 we read “…whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” Why not try to write such things? I believe that is what poetry is. Perhaps I can capture something true on paper before I am gone. Archibald MacLeish noted that “A poem should not mean but be.” Right on, I say: let it be (with thanks to the Beatles).

As a retired nuclear physicist, father and grandfather, photographer, traveler, and sometime writer, I have experienced many wonders. I have sipped ouzo in Syntagma Square; landed by helicopter on Franz Josef Glacier; ferried to Iona; wandered the streets of Paris, and tried to spot the Loch Ness monster-- all this with my true love and best friend Betsy. How great is that?
