Jason Marchi, an awarding winning journalist, resides in New Haven, Connecticut, close to the burgeoning arts and educational Mecca that is home to Yale University, the renowned Long Wharf and Shubert Theatres, the Festival of Arts and Ideas, and the Shoreline Arts Alliance, among others.
Marchi is the founder of the former New Century Writer Awards (NCWA) which provided over $65,000 in cash awards and scholarships to emerging short story writers, novelists, poets, screenwriters, and playwrights. Through Scissor Press, the publisher of Verbicide magazine, NCWA published a number of short stories and poems from writers first discovered through the New Century contest.
Marchi’s multiple award-winning children’s story, “The Growing Sweater,” appeared as the lead story in the Braille Institute’s EXPECTATIONS Anthology of Children’s Literature in 2007.
