Bill Fredericks is a 26 year old with a psychology degree, a bag of money, some maps, a butcher knife and a vision. He sets off on a cross country journey guided only by a handful of maps from which he chooses his direction. Along the way he finds, and stabs, innocent individuals who happen to be alone and in obscure enough locations to prevent immediate detection. A single stab wound by a generic butcher knife soon earns him the nickname “The Butcher” as the body count rises. Confidence or narcissism causes him to believe he has left no evidence connecting him to any, let alone all, of the victims. He recounts his effort to become the most prolific serial killer to never be discovered. Despite his capture, the discovery of his butcher knife, the bag of money and the maps which all circumstantially point to his guilt, he is convinced he will be found not guilty of 27 murders. Only a court date and a psychological evaluation stand between him and freedom to resume his journey into the annals of serial killer stardom.
