Some went to the Southwest and on out west to Dodge City, Kansas, then to near Branson, Missouri and winds up in Washington state. The storries include humor, hardships, conflict, love and an inherent love of God and country. Pictures are distributed throughout the book to indicate individuals, times and places.

Book Review:

Mary Lou McKillip is an Appalachian-born author who is also a natural-born story-teller. Her historical fiction begins during the Revolutionary War when John Samuel Waddell falls in love with and marries Naomi the author's ancestor, a full blood Cherokee. You'll get more fiction than fact, with story after story, stretching across our wide America. stories that connect the White familly, the Grogans, Mitchners and more. These are stories filled with conflict, mysterlly, sadness and humor. There is a mystery at a waterfall that is revealed at Annie's deathbed. Readers follow Roxie and Everett down the Cumberland River. It's said Roxie could shoot a hawk's eye over into his other eye and him a-flying. A favorite story that made me laugh is the tall tale of a whiskey making bootlegger who has his sons working at the still and his daughters delivering moonshine throughout the country in lard buckets, when caught by the G-Man, Sam Grogan sent him in the opposite durection chasing after the wrong fellow. -Nancy Simpson
