About the Author:

G.D. Gourd was born and raised on the East side of Des Moines, Iowa. After time in the U.S. Army he came back home and went to college. He graduated from DMACC in Ankeny Iowa with an AA degree in Criminalistics. He was hired by the Des Moines Police Department in 1979 as an Identification Technician. He has worked countless death investigations during his 30 years at DMPD. He is a professional photographer and was the Digital Darkroom Technician for the DMPD. The author spent eight months writing the book. He retired from DMPD January of 2010 after 30 years on the force.
