About this Book:

Story of the Worst Friendly Fire Incident involving PT boats in World War II..Navy PT boats are attacked twice in the same day by Marine planes due to misidentification.

About the Author:

Jo Frkovich is a mother of three and researched the incident due to her son's admiration for the Skipper of PT 346 who saved his grandfather's life that day but lost his own. After years of searching, the name of the skipper, James Burk, was found, and his brother, Joe Burk, also a PT boat captain in the Pacific, was located in 2006 and told of his brother's brave acts.

Book Review:

This book provides history of PT boats and their contribution to World War II in the Pacific. It provides a moving account of how 22 PT men were killed due to friendly fire in one short month in 1944. Much of the story is told in the words of the men involved in the incident from Naval reports and war time diaries.
