"The Weight of My Soul: ..." is a three part book of poetry consisting of forty-three poems. The three parts within the book represents the Ancient Kemetic (Egyptian) mythology of Ausar (Osiris), Aset (Isis) and Heru (Horus). The story of Ausar, Aset and Heru, written over 4000 years ago, is the origins of a trinity, immaculate conception and resurrection. Part One is entitled Insight (4), Part Two entitled Relations (3) and Part Three is entitled Ascension (7). The number 4 represents having insight and a foundation, number 3 represents relations between a man and a woman that produce a child (trinity) and number 7 represents ascension or resurrection. The aforementioned mythology and numerology, was created and taught in Ancient Kemet (Egypt) by the indigenous Africans. "The Weight of My Soul: ..." is a personal journey. The journey speaks of attaining truth, the dynamics involving relationships, intimacy, family unity in a cultural sense and the process of ascending or resurrecting mentally and spiritually.

Zynette Y. Paige is a supervisor and the program director at the Weisser Park Youth Center-SBA Academy in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She is successful in creating a creative writing program entitled The Harlem Renaissance Experience for youth. Participants in The Harlem Renaissance Experience studied the Harlem Renaissance, wrote poetry and lyrics and produced a CD entitled Bring Black Back!. Zynette earned her B.S. degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology from Ball State University.

"The Weight of My Soul: ..." is like sitting at the feet of your grandparent, that is telling the family history but also exposing their intimate relations and desires. Zynette's illuminating poetic storytelling style is conscious, compassionate, political, sultry and witty.
