Author tells his lifetime dream of riding the train around the world. Long distancre passsenger trains are rapidly disappearing. He gives a very personal view of this situation as it concerns the U.S. passenger rail service.

About the Author:

John Marshall Long, a native of Virginia, got his bachelor's degree from William and Mary; a master's from Michigan State and a doctor's degree from the University of Virginia. He retired from the University of Minnesota School of Medicine Faculty in 1993.
