About this Book:

As a small boy, Pieter Kohnstam lived with his parents in an apartment in Amsterdam during World War II. Anne Frank, whose diary later became world famous, was a neighbor and a sometime babystitter. When the Nazis occupied the Netherlands, the Frank family went into hiding, but the Kohnstams decided to flee. How they made their way across Europe to survive is a powerful story, filled with hardship, danger, miraculous escapes, and the generosity of others - both Christians and Jews - who helped them escape to freedom.

About the Author:

After escaping form nazi persecution, Pieter Kohnstam finsied high school in Buenos Aires. In 1963, he emigrated to the Unites Sates, where he pursued a career in the speciality chemical industry. Now retired in Florida, he frequently speaks in schools and to other community organizations about his experiences as a Holocaust survivor and onmatters relating to Jewish and interfaith topics.
