Shayla R. Day is a native of New Madrid, Missouri and now resides in Illinois. She released her first book of poetry, Expressions, in 2004. She is a graduate of the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) where she received her degree in broadcasting and Afro-American Studies. She recently received her master’s degree in business from Aurora University. In addition to being an author, Shayla writes and records hip hop music and writes screenplays and has a television show in the works. Searching for Utopia is her first published work of fiction.
