Ron Welch was born and raised in Kansas, joined the Navy at 23 and retired after 20 years. While in the Navy he traveled around the world and lived in Italy for a short time. Ron currently makes his home in New Jersey.
Ron sketched as a child but stopped before entering high school. In 1994 Ron started sketching to fill his time whenever away from his family. While stationed in Kuwait and Iraq he did military sketches. Many of his military sketches can be found at http://www.yessy.com/ronwelch/gallery.html.
Ron’s influences include Boris Vallejo, Steve Hanks, Boris Lopez, Alberto Vargas and Archie Dickens to name only a few.
