About this Book:

My book is about the emergence of consciousness from the confines of the self- on a personal as well as a political level. It is the story of a relationship between two people, Paul and Olivia, set in a rural valley in the south. The valley is meant to represent the mind of man, so the actions that occur within the valley are evocative of an introverted mindset, whereas those that extend beyond the valley are intended to represent the convergence of opposing, perhaps just different, consciousnesses. And the backdrop for the narrative is a war that is being waged overseas somewhere; those few parts that address this war being more philosphical ruminations or monologue than anything else.
