About this Book:

MEMORIES OF MY LIFE AND TIMES is a collection of poems about people and happenings that have impacted my life in one way or another - sad and joyful events, as well as insights about my triune God. It is my hope that as you read them, memories of your own unique experiences will come to the fore in a notalgic way. Some of my poems include: Memories, A True Friend, The Wise Man, Neon City, USA, The fall of Adam, Twin Tower Entombment. Come Home to God's Love and My Garden.

About the Author:

I was born in Georgetown, British Guyana - South America in 1935. At age 10 I was placed in an orphanage run by the Sisters of Mercy. In 1952, I immigrated to the U. S. and graduated from high school at age 18. I, then, pursued a career in Psychiatric Nursing and went on to undergraduate and graduate school where I earned degrees in Nursing Education and Human Relations. I subsequently taught foreign-trained graduate nurses and finally accepted the admin. position of Treatment Team Leader at a psychiatric center in New York City. My poetry writing began at age 14 influenced in secondary school by my exposure to Shakespeare, Keats, Byron, Longfellow and Alexander Pope. In 1997, I received a National Authors Registry President's award for Literary Excellency.

Book Review:

From: Robert L. Fenton, Literary Agent "I have quite an unusual book of poems that is quite inspirational and half of the poetry is dedicated to women: Sunflower Beauty, Jessica Come Home, A Rose Named Petal, To My Beloved Cuz. Our agency represents Gerald Adams, born in British Guyana, who over the years became one of its most prominent citizens. He has had a number of memorable experiences throughout his life and has condensed them into a collection of dramatic poems with some photographs.
