What makes a man? The poems and stories in this collection explore the idea of a Western man, a western soul. Between the tall buildings of Denver and Dallas, and along the sandy shores of Lake Texoma, there exists an attitude and a feeling that is inherited. It's "a different way of seeing the world" that few outsiders understand-and it is formed in childhood.

About the Author:

John K. Bucher was born and grew up in Denison, Texas. He spent his life in and loving the American West. After experiencing the stories and people from the western United States, he began to write of modern thought with a western slant. This is his first book.
