In Russia, Yefrem has lived through expropriation, NEP, industrialization, collectivization, World War II, hunger, epidemic, and communism. His work was printed in celebrated magazines such as “Crocodile”, “ Literaturka”, and “ Lit. Russia”. In 1992, Yefrem’s literature was printed in “New Russian Word” magazine, as well as other well known Russian-American newspapers and magazines. Likewise, he appeared on several Russian-American television programs where he was asked to read some of his work. In December 2007, Yefrem celebrated his 90th birthday. The following year he published his 6th book (3rd in America).
