Head, Body, Heart, a trio of love stories, rejects the form of the conventional romance novel, and instead tells three tales of real, hard love, but with a surreal, fantastical feel to them. The narrative voice in each is distinctly different from the other two; the first is an extremely heady, intellectual one, the second is raw and instinctual, and the third is written in a complete amalgamation of both styles.
Acknowledging that it is not the literal ‘heart’ in which feelings of love arise, Head, Body, Heart suggests that it is only when a perfect balance is achieved between desires of the mind and desires of the flesh that true love may really exist in the place we call our heart.
