About this Book:

Eight-year-old Aloma is devastated when she learns that she is moving across country leaving her best friend behind. Her only comfort is that she can carry her favorite red suitcase on the airplane. Aloma's mother agreed to let her carry the suitcase under one condition - she must take care of it. The day of the trip arrives and Aloma's curiosity gets the best of her. Will this be the worst trip of her life or a trip she'll never forget?

About the Author:

Sonja T. Williams was born in New York and now resides in Columbia, South Carolina with her family. She is an advocate of children’s literacy and believes that learning to read is critical for success in school and later on in life. Her hope is that parents help foster the joy of reading by reading to their children at an early age. “I can’t remember a time in my life when I didn’t enjoy reading on my own or reading to someone else,” says Sonja T. Williams. She does remember skipping recess so that she could sit and read a good book. “Take time to read,” she remarks, “because the smart one is the one who reads!” This is her first children’s book and she is currently working on her second book.
