About the Author:

Sandy Baumann, M.S. earned a B.S. in chemistry from Geneva College and an M.S. in biochemistry from Michigan State University. She taught chemistry and biochemistry at Madonna University and University of Michigan-Dearborn. Her interest in feeding students’ brains began when she encouraged her biochemistry students to learn the connection between personal nutrition, health, mood, and academic achievement. For 12 years, Sandy was director of a hospital health promotion department, where she coached a membership of 30,000 mature adults into developing better health habits. She serves as a health columnist for Quality Lifestyle Magazine and is also the author of Feed Your Brain for Memory and Feed Your Bones. Sandy is a professional speaker who has presented to thousands of people across the United States, including schools ranging from K-12 to colleges and universities.

After reading Feed Your Brain for Learning, I gave my second-grade students a protein breakfast in class for three weeks.
