God calls teachers and with that calling comes a divine enablement. Included in the gift of teaching is everything anyone will ever need to become a great and effective teacher in the Body of Christ! The “ability-to-do-it” comes with the gift!
So why are there so few “great teachers?” We can rest assured that there is nothing wrong with the call, and there’s certainly nothing wrong with God’s divine enablement. But great teachers are both called and made. The calling comes from God; the making comes as we give diligence to the call.
The message we teach is all too important to be lost in the clutter of ill-preparedness and mediocrity. When Jesus taught, He taught with force, competence, mastery, and delegated influence, and these are the defining marks of a great teacher. These are the goals for which every Christian Education teacher must strive! The purpose of this book is to train every Christian educator to meet these goals.
