About the Author:

John Michael Milgate has for over 25 years been one of the pastors (“Pastor John Michael”) of a congregation now known as A Community of Grace (in Concord, California). Throughout most of these years he has also worked as an attorney, specializing in the field of “elder law.” He has published several articles on legal issues, authored a chapter for a California Continuing Education of the Bar publication, and written booklets including Transformed by God’s Grace and an “Adventure Journal” on living the New Covenant called Life Wide Open (based in II Corinthians 2:14 through 7:2). In 2007 he sold his legal practice to devote more time to his pastoral role. He and his wife, Paula, have four grown children. He may be contacted via e-mail at johnmichael@liveingrace.org.
